Hippo Parade is launching a rhyming picture book “What kind of shoes does a Hippopotamus choose?” for ages 3 to 7, through publishers Penguin Random House, due for release August 2025.

The Author is the award winning British shoe designer Kat Maconie. She is the founder of a luxury shoe brand known for its bold, colourful, and playful aesthetic. They have global distribution and new retail openings worldwide.

The illustrator is the renowned Children’s Illustrator Sebastian Braun. Over the years Sebastian has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Allan Ahlberg, Julia Donaldson and Sam McBratney.
